PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of battery driving time and to optimize power consumption. SOLUTION: The processing time required for the transfer from an internal main memory 19 to an HD 26a at the time of 0V suspend is predicted from the memory sizeαof the internal main memory 19 by the main CPU 9 of a BIOSROM 8. The power characteristicβof the HD 26a is predicted by a BIOSI/F task to be executed in a sub-CPU 14 and a battery remaining amount detection task. A discriminating reference value (%) discriminating whether battery remaining amount is lowered or not is determined based on the both of the predicted values.
