<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable information apparatus which accesses an incorporated optical disk drive at a high speed and reduces its power consumption and keeps it in the most suitable use state. SOLUTION: This portable information apparatus incorporates an optical disk drive device 22, which can change the transfer speed of data transfer from an optical disk, and is provided with a voltage monitor part 24 which detects the residual capacity of an incorporated battery 25, means 13 and 14 which set the transfer speed of data transfer from the optical disk to an arbitrary value, and an optical disk control part 23 which drives the optical disk drive device 22 at the data transfer speed set by setting means in the case of the residual capacity of the battery 25 equal to or larger than a prescribed value and drives the optical disk drive device 22 at the data transfer speed of less power consumption in the case of the residual capacity of the battery 25 smaller than the prescribed value.</p> |
