PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the conversion efficiency of Kana (Japanese syllabary)/ KANJI (Chinese characters) with respect to Kana reading inputted as hand written characters. SOLUTION: The handwritten character input device applying Kana/KANJI conversion with respect to handwritten input Kana characters is provided with an accent identification section 16 identifying accent information representing an accent of reading of a Kana character, a Kana/KANJI conversion section 20 applying Kana/KANJI conversion to handwritten Kana character, based on the information identified by the accent identification section 16, a Kana/ KANJI conversion dictionary 22f in which a Kana character, KANJI to be revised by the Kana/KANJI conversion and accent information representing the accent of the reading of the Kana character are registered in cross reference, and the Kana/KANJI conversion section 20 references the accent information registered in the Kana/KANJI conversion dictionary 22f to decide a 1st ranking conversion object with respect to the Kana character. |
