PURPOSE: To improve an input power factor with a simple circuit arrangement and it the same time to achieve the miniaturization and light weight of a DC converter device. CONSTITUTION: In a DC converter device, a current interrupted by the on-off operation of a MOS-FET 5 flows into the first winding 10a of a choke coil 10 to induce a voltage in a second winding 10b, and the voltage of the sum of the rectified output voltage of a diode bridge 2 and the induced voltage of the second winding 10b of the choke coil 10 is applied to a smoothing capacitor 3. Therefore, the smoothing capacitor 3 can be charged over the wide range of one period of an AC frequency. For that reason, with such a simple circuit arrangement that only the choke coil 10 having the first and the second windings 10a, 10b is added, an input power factor can be improved. Also, the choke coil 10 is used at a high frequency, so that its inductance may be sail and it my be small-scale and light weight. |
