PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a color filter high in reliability without mixing of colors at a low cost by forming openings in a light-shielding layer by irradiation of laser light, forming projecting line along the peripheral part of each opening on the light-shielding layer, thereby forming mutually independent openings. SOLUTION: (a) A glass substrate or a transparent resin substrate is used for a substrate 1. (b) A light-shielding layer 2 having about 0.1-0.2μm thickness is formed as a black matrix on the glass substrate 1 by coating. (c) The prescribed position of the light-shielding layer 2 on the glass substrate 1 is irradiated with laser beam, and the irradiated part is removed to form openings 3 in the light-shielding layer 2 and also to form projecting lines along the peripheral part of each opening on the light-shielding layer 2, thereby forming mutually independent openings. Then a specified opening 3 is filled with a specified ink 4 to form a pixel, and if necessary, the pixels are sealed with a protective film to produce a color filter. |
