PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device in which comfortable use of hot water can be performed while a temperature of the hot water is not varied when the hot water is fed out. SOLUTION: When back-up gas 20 is to be ignited, combustion surfaces 12 of required number of planes are selectively changed over from a plurality of combustion surfaces 12 in response to back-up gas calculated in response to a feed-forward combustion back-up gas amount (F/F amount) 24 and back-up gas calculated in response to a product of the feed-forward combustion back-up gas amount (F/F amount) 24 and a corrected value (α) 26, back-up gases are ignited on a selected combustion surface 13 so as to perform a feed-forward hot water feeding combustion control 15.
