<p>Digital video signals are transmitted through a communication system using, e.g., asynchronous communication lines (ATM communication lines), such information as voice information for job communication and computer information is also transmitted through the communication system. The user of a first data transmitter imputs character data for job communication into a terminal. The set character data are multiplexed together with audio and video data outputted from a VTR and transmitted on prescribed transmission packets to a second data transmitter through the ATM communication line 2. At the second data transmitter, the character data are separated from the transmission packets and displayed on, for example, the display of a personal computer. Not only character information, but also conversation through telephone sets can also be transmitted. Thus the users of data transmitters on both sides also transmit and receive information for job communication through the communication line used for transmitting digital video signals.</p> |
