A fluid flow meter for measuring fluid flow rate, comprises an inlet port (22), an outlet port (21), and a conduit element (20) between the inlet and outlet ports (22, 21) through which the fluid flow passes and is caused to change direction. The active conduit element is mounted so as to be movable by the reactive force on the conduit element (20) generated by the momentum of fluid flowing through the conduit element (20). The meter (23) comprises means to indicate the reactive forces on the conduit element (20) to provide a signal indicative of fluid flow rate, and means to balance out the static fluid pressure within the conduit element (20). |
