A road sign 10 comprises a base 11 and sign part 12 both moulded of plastics and respectively having recesses 20 and projections 21 for material engagement at two spaced locations. There may be added ribs 21 and corresponding grooves 23. The recesses are in portion 14 having a hand grip socket 30. A recess 60 may receive a lamp and aperture 50 may receive a tie element. An intermediate sign may be provided having corresponding recesses and projections for interposition between the base and sign 12. Slots may add resilience to the recesses.
