The present invention discloses an ascending column for great water depth, comprising a main tube or central tube (8), peripheral lines (10i), a base (11) located at the lower end of the central tube (8). The central tube (8) comprises means (7, 9) to maintain the peripheral lines (10i) in close relationship to the central tube. The lower end of the peripheral lines is attached to a device (12) arranged upon the base (11), which allows a relative axial movement of at least one of the lines with respect to the central tube. The column is provided with dampening means.
