<p>An adjunct actuator (10) including an electric actuator motor (62) and associated gear train (64, 66, 68) providing motive power for remotely operating an output arm (42) of the adjunct actuator (10). A lost motion clutch mechanism (72a, 78e) is provided between the gear train (64, 66, 68) and the output arm (42). The lost motion clutch mechanism (72a, 78e) includes a floating sector gear (72) driven by the gear train (64, 66, 68). The sector gear (72) is driven to a neutral position by a spring (70) when the electric motor (62) is deenergized. The sector gear (72) is disposed to drive an arcuate carriage (78) which is pivotally mounted on the actuator frame (34) to move about a common rotational axis with the sector gear (72). A pair of driving faces (72a) of the sector gear (72) are interposed between a pair of driven faces (78e) on the carriage (78) in a manner providing lost motion between the sector gear (72) and the carriage (78). A method of integrally forming a gasket (44c) on the actuator frame (34) is also disclosed.</p> |
