The child's seat consists of a shell of rigid material and an insert of yielding material. It has a seat (1) and a backrest (2) detachable from the seat. The insert (5,6) may be removable from the seat and/or the backrest, and made of moulded foam material. The backrest may be adjustable in height relative to the seat. The shell (3) for the sear may have two or more recesses (15) one above the other in the region facing the backrest, and the shell (4) for the backrest may have a projection (21) to fit in the recesses.
