Coating of objects with fluid materials - through jets in evacuated enclosure and using magnetic field which is produced by microwave generator

The coating process involves depositing a fluidised powdered or liquid material on to the surface of an object, held within an evacuated chamber, by suction through orifices in the chamber wall and influenced by a magnetic field generated by a microwave unit. The enclosure (1), containing the article (3) to be coated, is evacuated by a vacuum pump (5). A coating material (6) is contained in a reservoir with a perforated plate (7) forming part of the wall of the chamber, the number and size of the holes depending upon the nature of the coating medium. A piston (8) and heating (11) may be provided to assist the flow of material. A magnetic field is provided by a microwave generator (13), and gases given off are extracted by a pipe (12).
