<p>An apparatus which provides integrally an image and sound with integral feel. As shown in the figure, a first image (1D) and a second image (2A) are simultaneously disposed on the same display screen (310). The sound associated with the first image (1D) is outputted from a speaker in a volume corresponding to the proportion of the first image (1D) of 15 %, while the sound associated with the second image (2A) is simultaneously outputted from the speaker in a volume corresponding to the proportion of the second image (2A) of 40 %. Here, when the first image (1D) is displayed in magnification and is displayed partially in overlap with the second image (2A), the sound associated with each image is outputted in a volume corresponding to the actual display area of each image (the area not hidden by the other image). The volume corresponding to 100 % is set in advance as the reference sound. In the case of stereo speakers, the balance of the right and left volumes are so adjusted as to correspond to the right and left positions of the images.</p> |
