PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital plate making machine which is suitable for making a color printing master and characterized by a short plate making time and the relatively simple structure of an exposure part. SOLUTION: A digital plate making machine which, after charging the photosensitive layer of a master plate X, forms an electrostatic latent image in the photosensitive layer by a laser scan unit 10 is equipped with movable tables 7, 9 which can move in the subordinate scanning direction of a nearly horizontal exposure stage A which can accurately position and fix the master plate X. The laser scan unit 10 with a laser beamαdirected downward is mounted on the movable tables 7, 9, and a charger B extending perpendicularly to the subordinate scanning direction is fixed in the lower part of the movable tables 7, 9 which come closer to the exposure stage side than the laser scan unit 10.
