Co-occurrence matrix formation and evaluation system for texture classification

The system uses a video camera supplying an image data stream to a filter. It represents the grey values of each image point and at least one defined adjacent image point as binary numbers or binary vectors. The grey values are assembled as grey value packets. The resulting bit vectors are fed to a histogram processor for calculating the frequency distribution of the bit vectors and the static characteristics of the frequency distribution.
