SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling state of refrigerant and furnace gas; supplying furnace gases into cooled cavity of damaged cooling member, with gas-liquid mixture being obtained in cavity; detecting gaseous phase in refrigerant pipeline; cutting off supply of refrigerant in pressure pipe of faulty cooling member. When difference between refrigerant pressure in cooling system and furnace gas pressure exceeds predetermined level, gaseous phase is supplied to cooled cavity of faulty member upon discharge of melting process products by stepped reducing refrigerant pressure in pressure pipeline with rate of reduction per each 4.0% of current value and with time interval per each burden charge supplied into furnace till gaseous phase in pipeline of faulty cooling member is detected. Refrigerant pressure reduction is limited by the value of 25.0-30.0% of current value and is periodically effectuated in each 2-7 discharges of melting process products.
