Headings B2E and B2K [Also in Divisions B5 and C3] Substrates such as paper, paperboard, plastic foils and regenerated cellulose film, may be melt coated with compositions comprising 40 to 99 weight per cent crystalline polypropylene of flow rate 12 to 120 dg/min and 1 to 60 weight per cent of polyethylene having a melt index of 1 to 15 dg/min, a density of greater than 0.912 g/cc and a melt index recovery of greater than 50 per cent. Papers, e.g. bleached or unbleached kraft, sulphite, groundwood or soda pulp papers, may be coated at linear speeds of 100 to 2000 ft per min, and the compositions may be applied to the anner surfaces of milk and like food cartons having an exterior coating of polyethylene.</p> |
