<p>The invention concerns a method of operating a fuel-vaporizing burner for a vehicle-heating device comprising an incandescence arrangement which initiates fuel combustion and supports the latter for a limited starting period. After starting, this method prevents the heating device from being switched off in a state in which subsequent re-starting would lead to an unfavourable exhaust gas with the development of fumes and dense smoke, for example. To this end, in such operating states the burner can only be switched off in a time-delayed manner. At the moment when the burner is to be switched off, the burner operating data are determined and evaluated in order to establish whether, and optionally for how long, such a delay should occur.</p> |
