<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembly and to prevent lowering of an operation feeling by a method wherein a ring member is nipped between the outer periphery of a steering shaft and the inner periphery of a bearing or the inner periphery of a steering column and the outer periphery of a bearing and the radial force thereof is set to a value responding to a change amount in a radial direction of the ring member. SOLUTION: A ring member 51 is arranged in such a state to be radially deformed and nipped between the outer periphery of a first steering shaft 5 and the inner periphery of a bearing 4. The ring member 51 exerts a radial force, responding to an amount of deformation in a radial direction on the bearing 4 and the first steering shaft 5. The ring member 51 is formed in such a manner that a plurality of semicylindrical protrusion parts 51c protruding radially outwardly are integrally formed on the ring body 51b made of a metal, having a division groove 51a, at intervals of a specified distance along a peripheral direction. A radial force counteracting an amount of deformation in a radial direction of the protrusion part 51c is exerted on the first steering shaft 5 and the bearing inner ring 4a.</p> |
