AROMATIC POLYAMIDE FIBER FOR REINFORCING RUBBER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To produce a high-grade aromatic polyamide fiber for reinforcing a rubber excellent in cord strength, fatigue resistance, etc., and a provide a method for producing the aromatic fiber. CONSTITUTION: An aromatic polyamide fiber is obtained by treating the aromatic polyamide fiber with the first treating liquid comprising a mixture of a polyepoxide compound with a blocked polyisocyanate compound and a terpolymer rubber latex comprising (a) 13-20wt.% vinylpyridine-based monomer, (b) 25-45wt.% styrene-based monomer and (c) 40-60wt.% conjugated diene-based monomer and then treating the resultant treated fiber with the second treating liquid comprising a mixture of at least a resorcinol-formalin precondensate with the terpolymer rubber latex. The terpolymer latex preferably has 110-250nm weight-average particle diameter of dispersed rubber particles and 100-140 Mooney viscosity.
