FIELD: power supply sources. SUBSTANCE: proposed unit includes internal combustion piston engine and electric generator consisting of two coils, one inside the other, installed in crankcase on parts of internal combustion engine. Energy converter unit consisting of two machines is assembled into one machine where chemical energy of fuel is converted into electric energy. Unit operates as follows: when current is supplied to generator coils from vehicle-carried current source (storage battery), coils start moving, thus shifting engine pistons. Simultaneously compression cycle takes place in one cylinder and exhaust and suction cycle, in other cylinder. In cylinder where mixture is compressed, explosion takes place and working medium (gas) executes operation through piston. Pistons move in opposite direction. Then, compression, explosion and working stroke take place in second cylinder. Engine is started. External power supply to coils is cut off. Current is generated at reciprocating motion of pistons together with coils. EFFECT: simplified design of power generating unit, reduced metal usage. |
