PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device hardly making a moire conspicuous and obtaining an excellent image. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a light source 1 irradiating a light valve, the light valve 2 having liquid crystal pixels arranged in matrix of a delta shape, color pixels of three primary colors arranged in one liquid crystal pixel and a composite color of red (R), green (G) and blue (B) displayed on one liquid crystal pixel, a projection lens 3 receiving output light from the light valve 2 and projecting a video image on the light valve 2 and a screen 6 having a periodical structure in one direction and containing a lenticular lens 5 forming a projection image, and when the pitch of the periodical structure of the lenticular lens 5 is defined as PL and the pitch of the projection image on the lenticular lens 5 surface in the direction answering to the periodical structure as P, the PL and P satisfys the relation (P/PL)×m1=n+1/2 (0.41<m1<0.57) (where, (n) is a natural number).
