INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide an information retrieval system with which a unnaticeable object is not selected. CONSTITUTION: A viewpoint position deciding part 4 and a glance direction deciding part 5 decide a viewpoint position and a glance direction based on the designation from an input device. A visible area deciding part 6 decides a visible area based on the glance direction. An image generating part 13 generates an image in the visible area decided by the visible area deciding part 6 and the visible image is displayed on a display 9. A selecting object setting part 15 selects all the objects in the visible areas existent from the viewpoint position within a certain fixed value and decides any object, which is closest to the center of a window, out of those objects as the selecting object to display information.
