PURPOSE: To provide optical articles of a plastic base material having antireflection films having excellent antireflection performance and durability. CONSTITUTION: A hard coating film 32 is formed on the surface of a resin base material 31 and after the surface of the hard coating film 31 is subjected to ion beam cleaning, the antireflection films 37 are formed on the surface. Ion beam cleaning is executed in an atmosphere reduced in the pressure down to <=1×10<-4> Torr by using argon and regulating an ion current density to 0.3 to 30μA/cm<2> . The argon is included in the boundary between the hard coating film 31 and antireflection films 37 of the resulted optical articles. |
