SOLUTION: This image forming material has an image forming layer containing a coloring agent particle and a binder on a support body in which the transmitted density of this layer in a wavelength (maximum absorption wavelength) λmax where the transmitted density in the spectral absorption wavelength area 350-1200nm is maximum is 3.0 or more per μm of the film thickness, or the transmittance in a wavelength (minimum transmittance wavelength) λmin where the light transmittance in the spectral absorption wavelength area 350-1200nm is minimum is 0.1% or less per μm of the film thickness.
