PURPOSE: To accurately display information in the proximity of the present position by specifying the point, which is in the retrieval coordinate range and is adjacent to the present position, based on the retrieval coordinate range and the point coordinates or each point to display the present position information. CONSTITUTION: A present position detection means 1 outputs present position coordinates indicating the present position of a vehicle. Point coordinates and display data of plural points are stored in a storage means 4. A point specifying means sets the retrieval coordinate range based on present position coordinates and specifies the point, which is in the retrieval coordinate range and is adjacent to the present position, based on the retrieval coordinate range and point coordinates. Present position information is displayed on a display means based on display data of this specified point. The point which is in the retrieval coordinate range and is adjacent to the present position is specified based on the retrieval coordinate range and point coordinates of points to display the present position information in this manner, thus putting restrictions on the retrieval coordinate range to accurately display the information in the proximity of the present position. |
