Pulse combustion with a great turn down ratio is applicable to various controls and regulations in a noodle cooker. The noodle cooker heats water in a pot (1) using a pulse combustor (2), which does not have a check valve for preventing back flow of combustion exhaust in its air supply system. A controller (25) of the pulse combustor (2) regulates the opening angle of a proportional electromagnetic valve (13) controlling fuel supply and the rotating speed of a fan (7) controlling air supply, in each case based on the water temperature detected by a temperature sensor (24); in use, the controller keeps the water temperature in the pot (1) in a predetermined optimal range, e.g. between 97 DEG and 98 DEG C. <IMAGE>
