The ship structure, when viewed from underneath, consists of V-shaped slip surfaces extending parallel, or nearly parallel, to the surface of the water. The right and left hand arm of these slip surfaces curve gradually upwards in the direction of the bow. Each of the slip surfaces fit into the V-shape of the one before. The upwards curved arms of adjacent V-shapes are interconnected by surfaces running perpendicularly or nearly perpendicularly to the surface of the water.
