<p>The open or closed loop control system for the vehicle brakes has a device (7) to determine a set-point yaw rate for the car and a sensor (8) to measure the actual yaw rate. There is a control unit (9) to operate the brake on an outer wheel during a curve based on the deviation between the set-point and actual yaw rates with the proviso that the absolute value of the deviation exceeds a preset value and that the absolute value of the actual yaw rate exceeds another value. There is no brake control if the directions of the two rates are the same and the actual yaw rate is less than the set-point rate.</p>
