The device for slicing food stuffs such as sausage ham and cheese etc. has a rotating planetary action knife within a cutting unit (14) and a toothed belt product feeder (12). Underneath the cutting unit is a belt arrangement (13) for removing the slices of cut foodstuff. The drive unit for the product feeder unit and the belt arrangement for food removal are joined to a drive shaft which extends through a side wall (11) of a central housing (10) in which are located all the drive mechanisms and control units. The central unit is mounted on feet (15) allowing access from underneath.
