The invention concerns an airbag module which comprises a gas generator which, in response to a trigger signal, introduces gas suddenly into an airbag made of substantially airtight material. The airbag comprises an air outlet opening through which gas flows out of the bag after a given dwell time therein. According to the invention, the effective cross-section of the air outlet opening (40) is made available in a time-delayed manner when a time module has been activated. Optionally, the volume can briefly be increased in order to maintain the internal pressure in the airbag constant for a predetermined period of time. |
