AROMATIC DIIMIDODICARBOXYLIC ACID AND ITS PRODUCTION AND SOLUTION CONTAINING THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain an aromatic diimidodicarboxylic acid useful as e.g. a dicarboxylic acid component for heat-resistant polymers and soluble in aprotic polar solvents by using 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane as a raw material. CONSTITUTION: This compound, aromatic diimidocarboxylic 2,2-bis[4-(5- hydrocarboxy-1,3-dione-isoindoylphenoxy)phenyl]-propane} expressed by the formula is obtained by reacting 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane is with trimellitic anhydride in an aprotic polar solvent (e.g. N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone) at 50-90 deg.C, then charging the resultant system with an aromatic hydrocarbon azeotropic with water (e.g. toluene) at 0.1-0.4wt. times an aprotic polar solvent and conducting a further reaction at 120-180 deg.C.
