PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst which can produce a carbonic diester at high selectivity in the production of the carbonic diester by reacting an alcohol with carbon monoxide and oxygen, a production method for the carbonic diester with the use of the catalyst, and regeneration method for the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst in which a platinum group metal compound, alkali metal hydroxide or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, or alkali carbonate is supported on a porous carrier. As the platinum group metal compound, a halogenated compound of rhodium, palladium, or platinum is preferable, and a catalyst in which an oxyhalogenated compound of a platinum group metal is supported on the porous carrier is especially preferable. In the presence of the catalyst, an alcohol is reacted with carbon monoxide and oxygen in a gas phase to produce a carbonic diester. |
