PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new recombinant type enzyme having a specific amino acid sequence, containing a peptide chain having serine protease activity derived from hepatitis type C virus as an active domain, having high utility value as a digestive enzyme of a polypeptide. SOLUTION: This new recombinant type hepatitis type C virus(HCV) protease contains a peptide chain having an amino acid sequence of the formula as a protease active domain, is a serine protease derived from a hepatitis C virus, shows protease activity specific to HCV protease Cpro-2 and has high utility value as a digestive enzyme for various polypeptides having an amino acid sequence of a cleavage site concerned with Cpro-2. The HCV protease is obtained by incorporating a DNA coding for HCV protease Cpro-2 into a cyclic plasmid vector to prepare a recombinant plasmid vector, introducing the vector into a host cell and then culturing the transformant bacterium. |
