<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of waves and wrinkles of an endless belt on a recording material carrying surface during controlling of belt deviation so as to stably carry the recording material by arranging a belt deviation detecting member and a displacing means in a belt hanging and tensioning member other than the recording material carrying surface. CONSTITUTION: An endless belt 1 is wound in a downstream driving roller 2, an upstream deviation correcting roller 3 and a follower roller 4 which constitute a belt hanging and tensioning member and moved in an arrow direction K1. The deviation correcting roller 3 is for such inconveniences as one-side deviation, meandering and the like occurring in the endless belt 1 and this is always pressed by a tension spring 12 in a direction for making the endless belt 1 tense. One end side of the deviation correcting roller 3 is supported on a swing bearing 9 via a detecting ring 8 so as to be swung up and down. Since the detecting ring 8 and the deviation correcting roller 3 are arranged in sides opposite photosensitive drums 5a to 5d as transfer and carrying surfaces, no waves or wrinkles are generated on the transfer and carrying surfaces.</p> |
