WEAR-RESISTANT ACRYLONITRILE/STYRENE RESIN AND CHARGE TRANSPORT LAYER OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR, FORMED BY USING THE SAME AS BINDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wear-resistant AS resin usable for sliding parts or as a binder resin for the charge transport layer (protective layer) of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: This wear-resistant acrylonitrile/styrene resin (AS resin) is prepared by copolymerizing acrylonitrile with styrene and optionally other monomers copolymerizable therewith and has an acrylonitrile unit content of 35-50wt.%, a reduced viscosity (ηsp/c) of 0.4-0.8dl/g (as measured in methyl ethyl ketone solution at 30 deg.C) and a Tabor abrasion loss of below 30mg (as measured according to JIS K-7204). A charge transport layer for an electrophotographic photoreceptor is formed by using this resin as the binder.
