PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil and fat having a reducing effect on the concentration of lipids in blood by using triglycerides in which the fatty acid moieties comprise ones derived from at least one specific unsaturated fatty acid and the amount of the 2-position acid moieties derived from the specific acid is not larger than a specific value. SOLUTION: This oil and fat having a reducing effect on the concentration of lipids in blood comprises preferably at least 5wt.% triglycerides in which the fatty acid moieties comprise ones derived from at least one long-chain polybasic unsaturated fatty acid of the n-3 type (a) and the amount of the 2-position acid moieties derived from the acid (a) is less than 40mol% of all units derived from the acid (a). The acid (a) is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of α-linolenic acid, arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosapentaenoic acid, and decosahexaenoic acid.
