PURPOSE: To provide a humidifier which abates sound generated when water is supplemented from a water tank, elongates replacing period of residual adsorption member, and improves its function. CONSTITUTION: Water in a water tank 1 flows through a water flowing-out port 3 of a tank cap 2 and is supplied to a water receptacle 4 and the water is held at a specified water level. Water in the water receptacle 4 is supplied to an evaporating pan 6, water in the evaporating pan 6 is heated by a heater 7 and changed into vapor. Residuals such as deposited calcium or the like are adsorbed with a surface of a residual adsorbing member 8 mounted in the evaporating pan 6. As the water in the evaporating pan 6 evaporates and a water level at the water receptacle 4 is lowered down to a specified water level, the water in the water tank is replaced with air outside the water tank 1. At this time, when the water passes through opening holes 15b, 16a of the sound muffling cylinder 14 convering the water flowing-out port 3, a pressure loss is generated, a flowing speed of water is decreased to reduce some produced clap sound. |
