An appts. for cleaning high temp. heaters (1) esp. for texturising machines has a heating channel (14) in which the heated thread is led through guideways (4) which change course so thread runs in a path deviating from a straight line. The appts. has a blade (6) which is sufficiently thick and flexible as to fit the shape of the guideways after being inserted in the region of the thread path between the guideways and it has an abrasive surface structure on the sides facing the guideways.
