BIOCIDAL COMPOSITION

A composition comprising a metal complex of a cyclic thiohydroxamic acid such as the 2:1 zinc complex of 3-hydroxythiazol-2(3H)-thione and an organic water-solubilising agent of which is particularly a compound formula Y-X-Z wherein Y is a group which interacts with the metal complex, X is an organic divalent spacer group and Z is a water-solubilising group. The preferred water-solubilising agent is an amino carboxylic acid such as histidine.
