PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new DNA having a specific base sequence, useful as a gene promoter induced with a disease resistance-inducing substance and capable of being utilized for the exploration of the disease resistance-inducing substance and inducing the disease resistance in a transformed plant. SOLUTION: This new DNA comprises a gene promoter having a base sequence containing a base sequence of the formula and induced with a disease resistance-inducing substance such as probenasole, can induce the disease resistance by ligating the DNA to a reporter gene, transforming a plant with the ligation product and subsequently expressing the gene with the transformed plant, and can further be utilized for the exploration of a disease resistance- inducing substance. The DNA is obtained by isolating a genom DNA from the aboveground part of two week-aged rice after sowed, making a rice genom library from the genom DNA, and subsequently screening the genom library in the presence of a gene induced from the probenasole as a probe. |
