Functional architecture for controlling interactive video services

The functional architecture is used to control interactive services between a subscriber and a content provider, connected to the subscriber via the communications network and a service switching point. Separate modules are used for the call handling and connection control procedures, with signalling between the subscriber and the service connection nodes effected via a standard asynchronous transfer mode specification.
