The motor is fixed with respect to the axis of rotation of the wheel and has a drive shaft perpendicular to the wheel axis which engages a crown wheel inside the hub through freewheel mechanisms and at least one gear reduction mechanism so that the motorized wheel may operate at two different gear ratios in one direction upon reversal of the motor direction and operate in a freewheeling mode when no power is supplied or when the bicyclist applies manual power.</p> |
