METHOD OF DEHYDRATION OF A HEAVY OIL

FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: initially watered crude oil with demulsifier and weighting compound in the form of concentrated saline with density exceeding that of heavy oil is vigorously stirred under turbulent condition with Reynolds number 180000- 300000 followed by slow agitation of redespersed water-oil emulsion with a wide fraction of a light oil product and subsequent agglomeration of water drops under laminar flow condition at Reynolds number 500-2000. Invention may find use in oil fields when preparing crude oil. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process due to improvement of quality of obtained produce with simultaneous shortening of settling time. 1 cl
