In a person transport vehicle, a roof structure is fixed on longitudina l sidewalls. In order to achieve a simple but highly functional structure, a longitudinal beam far the roof is fixed to the area of the top side edges of each longitudinal side wall and is provided with an at least approximately horizontal leg. The horizontal legs extend toward each other and carry in a weld-free a nd watertight manner an inherently stable roof plate provided with integrated longitudinal channels.
