Brake shoe and method of manufacturing

A brake pad consists of a carrier plate and a friction material. The carrier plate consists of two sections with an intermediate damping layer. The damping layer (6) consists of a plastic adhesive which is 20-200 mu m thick, esp. 75-100 mu m thick. The damping layer pref. consists of a peroxide wetted silicon adhesive. The pad is pref. produced by applying the adhesive as a vapour, pressing a second plate section onto the adhesive layer on the first section, and then applying a friction material in a mould.
