FIELD: communication. SUBSTANCE: method supplies information for assessing signal quality and bit validity for set of phase-modulated information characters. This is achieved by detection of phase of received phase-modulated signal, comparison of phase estimation to closest expected value for generator of signal of phase error, mapping said phase error signal to estimation of quality of character, averaging this estimation for set of character intervals for generation of rate of signal quality. Finally information about bit validity is generated by means of calculation of weights of in-phase and quadrature constituents of phase estimation by means of calculated signal quality estimation. Said method and corresponding device provide information about signal quality and bit validity without information about amplitude of signal. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. |
