FIELD: measuring equipment, in particular, devices for determining the chemical composition and structure of substances by nondestructive testing; can be used in various fields of science, technics and national economy. SUBSTANCE: the value of tunnel current is measured the gap between the specimen under test and sensor in an alternating radio-frequency field at a strength of (10-10) V/m with a subsequent processing of the measurement results. The device uses a controlled electric pulse generator, two end-face capacitance transducers, series-connected comparison unit, current- to-voltage converter, frequency compensation unit, amplifier and a low-pass filter, whose output is connected to a resolver and digital voltmeter, as well as a code-to-resistance converter, whose output is connected to the second input of the compensation unit. The sensors are cut in between the respective inputs of the comparison unit and first output of the controlled electric pulse generator whose second output is connected to the input of the code-to-resistance converter. One of the sensors is made for positioning of electrodes with a gap on the surface of the substance under test. Varying the pulse repetition frequency of the controlled electric pulse generator, the mean value of tunnel current is being measured, and, according to the results of measurements, the quantity of free electrons and the level of ionization of the substance under test are determined, which makes it possible to determine the substance proper, and at an analysis of multicomponent substances - not only the composition, but also the quantitative value of revealed components.
