FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves periodically changing materials in charging hoppers by introducing mixed burden portions with periodicity of 2-7 portions per charging cycle; changing distributor rotation direction upon each portion feeding step; providing in succession discharge of burden from charging hopper into furnace at circular positions of 0, 120 and 240 deg of distributor. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation.
